Final Treat

What are we going to do with Grandpa. Here is a picture of his final treat. Grandma fusses about all his "food" treats but nothing stops him. What a great week we had. So many memories. We will miss you and look forward to our next time together. Maybe next year we can pull off cousin camp.

Luke's Day - Monday

Finally it is Luke's day. He waited until Monday. He chose swimming and a movie and nachos for supper. They started the day by going home from camping with the Wilson children. They played at their house for several hours while Grandma took a NAP. :) Here is our fun Luke day, it started of course with breakfast out with Grandpa.

Swimming

Here is Luke at the swimming pool. His choice for the day was swimming. The Cherokee pool is always alot of fun.

Nachos and Movie Night

Luke chose nachos for his special supper and we chose to eat it while watching a movie for movie night. The name of the movie we watched was "Summer of the Monkeys". I would highly recommend it for family watching. It was a fun day Luke. Thanks for waiting for the last turn. We love you.

Grandpa and Grandma's Day -- Sunday

We took the kids to Paulina Lake camping. Thanks to our friends Mark and Karen we had a camper to enjoy. Our youth Pastor and his family went along with us. The children all had fun together. Here is Sammy and Natalie making a sand castle. Luke and Issac having fun.
Getting sandy and then running into the Lake to wash off.

Having fun being silly.

We enjoyed a delicious picnic together. Then more swimming. Here Emily and Laura work on a sand castle.
Natalie relaxing.

Swimmers all in a row.

Camp Fire

Sammy (Sara Marie) and Luke at the camp fire. Sammy and Alise are new friends!

Rainy morning

This is what we woke up to. Thanks Emily for this cool picture. We all crowded into the little camper and had breakfast and some good ole fun.
The kids love to all crowd into the bunk bed.

Around 10 o'clock or so we pacded up and headed home. The Wilson famil took all of the children home so Grandma could get a relaxing bubble bath and a nap. Thanks Wilsons!!

Natalie's Day - Saturday

Natalie's day started with breakfast with Grandpa. Natalie was excited to have a waffle and chocolate milk. She was off to a great start on her day. Natalie enjoys the tire swing.
Her day included the following fun things that were her choices. It was a super hot day but we had a great day none the less. We love you Natalie.

Picnic and a Hike

Late morning we packed a lunch and headed to Martin's Access for a picnic. We found a nice shady spot. Afterwards we went on a small hike, it was much to hot for a long hike.

We found an old fashioned water pump and Grandpa pumped water over every ones head. Natalie especially liked this and was the first on to volunteer. She said it felt good.

Praire Heritage Center

We are continually impressed with this place by Peterson Iowa. There is so much there to discover and learn and it was the perfect place for a hot afternoon. Among other things the girls made bird nests and Luke dressed up.

They had a great bug display and Grandpa took them outside and taught them how to make a fire with a magnifying glass. (Sorry Dave and Anita this may not have been the smartest thing to teach. They actually got several fires going. Luke was afraid that Grandpa was going to burn the place down and needed some reassuring.

Swimming and Slip and Slide

It was a super hot day. We got out the pool and the slip and slide and had some cool fun.

Baking and cooking

Here Natalie is helping make a cake that we will take with us camping tomorrow.
Here Natalie is working hard preparing the chicken dinner that she requested. Here is the delicious chicken dinner complete with green beans from Grandpa's garden (Natalie and the other snapped them earlier in the day, and mashed potatoes. Good choice Natalie.

Movie Night

We ended our day by watching a movie and eating popcorn. The movie was "Horse Spirit" it was loaded to us by a friend. Thanks Grandpa for making the popcorn and serving it to us in your special containers.

Grandpa and Grandma

We are getting tierd. We've managed to sneak in a little rest time. We ask ourselves, did we really have four children????

Emily's Day -- Friday

Today was Emily's day. It started with breakfast out with Grandpa. She reported that she had pancakes.
Sporting a new shirt.

Shopping

Here we are off on our shopping excursion. Emily's first choice of her day. Emily got a new book bag for school.
Luke found just what he wanted, a finger skate board. Grandma said, "A what?". Then said he wanted Grandpa to help him build a jump for the skate board. Grandpa found one complete with a jump and he decided to pitch in some extra money so he wouldn't have to build one. :)

Natalie gets a notebook and a coloring activity. Later she asked, how much money do I have left? Sadly the answer was none. She was fine with that.

Alise had a hard time until Grandma finally gave in and let her get yet another stuffed animal. Sadly I forgot to take a picture.

Eating out at Red Robin

Here we are waiting for our delicious burgers, We were enjoying Emily's choice of eating out.

Nest we did Emily's choice of Miniature Golf.

Evening of Golf

It was a steamy hot afternoon but it cooled off nicely for our night of miniature golf in Sioux City. Natalie could not figure out how to hold the club. Grandpa eventually showed a little impatience with her and she quickly solved her problem. Once she got her club gripped correctly she didn't let go of it for 18 holes. At first it was hard for her not to grab her ball once it went in the hole, but eventually she would hit it in and just walk away. She was going to be sure no one had to correct her grip. :) again. She actually hit the ball pretty good. We thought her hands might be sore after this but they didn't seem to be. Her determination was funny and cute.

Once again we had a great day. Thanks for the suggestions Emily.
