Larry Goes To Haiti - February 2011

Market in Haiti.

Larry helped to tile this floor for a Dr.'s office as one on his projects.

Children were everywhere.
Lady making gravel. This is her daily job.

A Ride in a Tap Tap

Delivering rice. An overloaded burro. Larry felt so sorry for the burros who had to carry loads that were to heavy.

Down by the river. Look close and you can see people washing clothes and themsevles.

Pickups are called Tap Taps. You tap them when you want to go and you tap them when you want to stop.

Visiting an orphanage

Food that was given out. Weighing babies before they get more food. This is a clinic they run. They weight the babies to be sure they are getting the food and it isn't going somewhere else.

Children.

Visiting a school

The entire team in front of the school. Blankets, bowls and back packs for each student. They were the most excited about their new bowl.

The children in their school before the gifts were given out. These children are in school because each of them is sponsored.

Women's Conference

They gave the women at this conference several things. HyVee donated bags that they all got. Here is a woman looking into a mirror that was given all of them. May be their first look into a mirror. Presenting the gospel via flannel board.
All the women got copies of the Bible. See how the ladies were packed in, shoulder to shoulder and it was hot.

All in all it was a fantastic experience. When asked if he would go again he said "yes, if you will go with me". We will have to see about that.
