40 Years Together

Sunday our congregation helped us celebrate our 40th anniversary. They had cake and a card shower. It was a wonderful expression of love and we felt blessed. This was part two of our celebration. (thanks to our girls, who had a hand in this celebration).

KingsPoint Resort

This is where we chose to celebrate our 40Th anniversary. It was close to home, yet special. It is on the lake in Storm Lake. We only had a short time and this was perfect. We really enjoyed our personal celebration and will share a little with you.
Dinner out, looking at the lake. The Prime Rib was fabulous.
After eating we walked along the lake, stopping often to enjoy the scenery.

This was the deck back at the motel. It looked out on the lake. We sat here and exchanged gifts, and tried to imagine that we have really been together 40 years.

The Ring and the Bookends

Here is the band of diamonds. I Love it. I also love it that Larry said it was because Diamonds are forever.
This is what Larry wanted. Marble book ends. Turns out there are lots of choices on line.
They are heavy and don't slide when holding books.

It was a special time spent together. Now we look forward in a few days to celebrating with our children in Chicago. It is fitting after all to celebrate in the city where it all began.

Friends

This summer we purchased a screen tent so we could eat outside without bugs. We ordered it on line and we LOVE it. It is so easy to put up and to take down. It works perfect. Even has sun panels for when the sun is too bright. Wed. night we had the Dirks over for a meal and it was soooo much fun. Here is Kathleen with a piece of my cheesecake, which by the way was fantastic. We also had kabobs, potatoe salad, lettuce and fruit.
Can't even tell they are in a screen tent. We had a wonderful evening.

The Wilsons Arrive

We are praising God in Meriden for the arrival of our new Youth Pastor and his family. Michale, Sara, Lauren, Sammy (Sara Marie) and Issac.

We are excited to welcome them into our church and into our hearts.

Fun at Milwaukee

Recently Larry and I made a week plus trip to see all of our children. We had a wonderful time visiting with everyone. We actually started the trip by going to Louisville and we ended up in Milwaukee. Since I tried to blog correctly the last is first. So keep looking until you get through all the Louisville pictures.

Here we are in Milwaukee with Josiah and Jack. It was great to see them and Sarah and Eric.
Joey seem older each time we see him and little Jack continues to be cute as a button

Fun at the Museum

We spent a fun morning at the children's museum with Josiah and Jack. This place is really neat with a lot of fun hands on things for children and their grandparents to do.
