Devotions

I have renewed my committment to read the scriptures each morning and I have been enjoying doing so. My kitty always reads with me. Here she is studing a verse of scripture. :) Something new Larry and I have started is to rise together each morning at 5 and read. Starting then I not only get my Bible reading done, but I also get some reading in another book done. It is much easier to get up when we do it together. We also are doing good on a commitment to go to bed at 9:30.

New Fun

This is Larry's and I new fun. It is called "Colorku" and is the new color Sudoku Puzzle. It contains 9 colors of balls and you move them around as you do the numbers of a Sudoku Puzzle. One person can play or more. Larry and I enjoy doing it together. It comes with puzzle cards or you can use puzzles from a book. It has helped pass some cold winter nights. Thanks Anita for finding it.

Cambodia and Tea

I am not overly fond of this picture but it shows the pretty scarf my friends brought me from Cambodia. I have learned several ways to tie (wear) it and I really like it. Also another new favorite is Chi tea. ( not sure of spelling) I have learned to love it. Every once in awhile a friend and I go to the Copper Cup and I get the tea.

Christmas 2009 -- over

Can you believe I finally took my Christmas tree down and packed it away. Another Christmas is over. It was a little different, but I enjoyed it. The next big thing for us is the addition of grandchild #7 on Feb. 1st. Can't wait.

P.J. Day at Headstart

Friday, Jan. 9, 2009 we had a make-up day at school. Oh good said one little girl, does that mean we get to wear make-up. :) No that meant that we missed a regular day of school and so we had to make it up. We decided to make it a fun day. We all came in our PJ's. What a great day we had. All of the staff were good sports and we started our day with lots of laughs as we all arrived in our PJ's.

Christmas Fun

The week after Christmas brought visitors. Dave and Anita and their family and Sarah and Josiah came home. We so enjoyed their visit. That meant we got to see 5 of our grandchildren. We missed Chaun and Becky and Jonathan and Matt and Unity but saw them at Thanksgiving. During the visit we did lots of fun things that included the following:

Playing with oh so sweet Josiah

Celebrating Anita's Birthday

Playing Games and Doing Puzzles

Playing Battleship with Luke

Somehow Grandpa never won. Great going Luke!

A triip to the Heritage Center

Iowa is full of surprises. A new discovery for us was this Heritage Center in Sutherland. Just 20 minutes from home. It was a great place to explore and had a great wild cat display.
